Administrative Core
Bonnie Green, PhD
Task: Determine program
priorities, review Center progress in all areas, assure communication
among Center components, monitor community relationships, assess
new clinical and research opportunities.
Consists of 3 teams:
1. Community Liaison Team
Chair: Tiffany Townsend, PhD,
Department of Psychiatry
Task: Facilitate
and monitor relationships with community partners and with
the community advisory board. Support collaboration for research
projects.
2. Training
Team
Chair: Janice
Krupnick, PhD, Department of Psychiatry
Task: Assist junior investigators
in their research efforts to promote their becoming
independent investigators; provide training opportunities
for center personnel,
community providers, and staff interested in developing research
skills.
3. Dissemination Team
Chair: Stacey Kaltman,
PhD, Department of Psychiatry
Task: Develop and maintain
effective communication among groups within the Center; develop
a website to disseminate center research and other activities
to various stakeholders; develop modes of relaying expertise
and opportunities for participation
Methods Core
Co-Chairs: Lori Frank, Nawar Shara, Donald Stull
Task: Develop and provide
consultation on state-of-the-art research design, methods,
statistics, and outcome measures
Goals: Assist partners
in obtaining funding related to Center mission, review and
propose use of promising and innovative methods (e.g. cell
phones for data collection), provide mentoring and workshops
on new methods, and design studies to test pros and cons of
different methods
The following functions are supported:
1. Statistics Consultation
Task: Provide expertise
and technical assistance on up-to-date statistical analysis
procedures and methods; provide data entry, management, and
program support for Center projects
2. Mental Health Outcomes
Task: Development, adaptation,
and translation of culturally sensitive trauma and mental health
outcomes measures
3. Mental Health Economics
Task: Provide expertise
and support for reviewing and evaluating budget implications
and cost-effectiveness of new trauma screening and treatment
interventions for the health care system
Research Core
Group
Chair: Mary Ann Dutton, PhD,
Psychiatry
Task: To help the field develop
effective treatments for low-income women who have experienced
interpersonal trauma that “work” for patients,
providers, and service systems, implement three center-funded
pilot studies, identify promising interventions for trauma,
test alternate methods of recruitment/retention, and support
other pilot work & research development
Advisory Boards
Task: Provide feedback to
the Directors on Center progress in advancing trauma-related
intervention research, evaluating strengths, weaknesses, and
relevance of the Center’s activities and projects; offer
suggestions for change
